Hanging Cocoon

Zhuang Man told me last night.

Mood affects complexion

I was stumped! My complexion affects my mood, first! Haha, it was thoughtful of Man to think of me. I was musing like any ordinary day, on the way back from internship, until a hanging cocoon was spinning miraculously in the middle of the road. I instantly knew this cocoon had its 'roots' from the huge raintrees which shaded the whole stretch of road.

That was how the green worm got on me, last month! Its cocoon was hanging down a tree branch, got stuck on my clothing and went messing around on me. Its looked pretty cute to be crawling everywhere, but to think that it crawled all the way into my handbag, was... scary

Well, today was simple. I got day off for a drug and allergy test and then I bought tickets for my KL trip next week. I wondered off to Harbourfront and got Claud a lil something for her birthday. And then I skipped home for dinner and borrowed dad's bike. In no time I was down for band, 1st time since my exams were over. I miss band...
Worst of all, I miss all the love I had in music.

Music is MAGIC.

A bunch of dudes came from Saint Pats and many other secondary schools and man.... we just needed to talk a lil and we could blend in nicely. Saint Pats guys are really charismatic and I admire them. Skillful and friendly and outgoing. It reminded me of Alvin, the police dude which joined us for Colours.

Well then, I got back home after eating at Prata Cafe at Evans Lodge. Sat back and ruminate bout the hanging cocoon which still caught my fancy, on top of all the other things. (which really surprised me) I said to myself.

Hanging cocoons are like me.... In transition.. To become something more wholesome than the present self. I am gonna hang as far as I want, to hitch a ride on anything that comes in my way. Alwyn said today,

'Open your doors always, so that you will see Opportunity before he knocks on it'

dear Mom, i love you

' We Are Fact Interns'

Accounts RooM

'We Are FACT interns'- pseudo version of 'We are Singapore'

We, the interns of FACT Software
Pledge ourselves as one united Marketing Team
Regardless of the Obnoxious Boss
Poor Helpdesk and BAD corporate culture
So as to achieve 12 calls a day, 4 demos per month and 10 weeks on compulsory internship
And good name for our UNI!

Chorus:
We are Cheap Labour, we are Cheap Labour, we are one strong team
and free forever more (after this nightmare, of course)

S U P E R L A D Y

Book of the Day: Angels & Demon by Dan Brown

I couldnt put the book down, according to a few of my friends, the Da Vinci Code was more fun. I am gonna grab it soon enough.Exxonmobile starts soon, if I could eventually pass my medical tests. Eh, there are more important things to ponder in life.. Now, how am I gonna quit FACT Software International? Haha, by now, almost the whole team knows I am leaving. I am jus waitin for a thumbs up from Nicholas from OCS. Of course, with the blessings of Ruth. I hope she thinks good of me after that debacle on one faithful working day, 5 weeks back. It was ugly for all of us, yikes. But of course, there were some of us who chuck in all behind, so that they wont battle with dissonance... Typical of conservative Singaporeans who don fight back. Fight. I mean, just look at the CAO scandal, which Singaporean company sued them? Nil.

More wholesome thoughts... I sat upright dwindling with the computer, looking for this webbie that my partner at FACT, Zhuang Man likes to visit. Its about the seemingly bimbo girl who writes bout nothing but her adventurous experiences in different countries. Her sense of expression seems to enlighten me. And NO, I am not a lesbian... Eiiiguh. Her confidence and her flambouyant personality radiates on her face. Who darn hell cares, how bimbotic she looks or sound for that matter, when she shows off the rare designer things she bought, out of her whims and fansies. She has spirit and zest which is incomparable to mine. That ignites me.One of those friendster alerts, which constantly flooded my email came out. I have yet to change the settings. I came upon Caroline Jasmine's friendster account. She has finally graduated!! Sweet Carolina! I used to call her that. I remembered the time she had a bad crush on Philips Young while in Secondary 2. I loved to tease her, but like a cheery girl she was, she just laughed with me. Haha. Too bad Philip was into Quifang. Philip was a really sad case.... Thank God Caroline is fine... I should write to her.

I spoke to Claud bout being unhappy.I came out with a few suggestions to be happy. Both Claud and I agreed on the something. We Need Money Not because we are high maintenance girls but because we are dirt poor. Our idea of being happy is doing the things we wanna do. Mine is to work on my body. Then I wanna work on my wardrobe. While doing all that I wanna subscride to a business magazine, anything which is within my budget. If there is one thing I learnt at FACT Software, its knowing what to do with life before you end up to do crap work like sales.....
Almost all the girls I read about, Caroline, Dahne, Rozzalina and more. They pursue more than people's expectiations of them. They do things which please them no matter how sillly it sounds to others. I saw Rozza on the ad on Suria Channel. Whoa, she had gone a long way. I recalled the days when she was depressed and she took too much pills. She dropped out of college and tried going into acting. I heard of many silly things she did and how others laughed and condemned her for being desperate, but hey, look at her now. And sooo... its my turn to bloom.

Its time I focus of Me, Me, Me.

I wanna be super, and I want Myra to be known for something. I want my friends to come to me for financial advices and I want them to believe in me! Yeah! Thats it, I wanna be Super Lady.

Fadzli I know you are reading this, and I know you are laughing. Its either because you spotted grammatical/ spelling errors in my blog or you are just undermining me! Which is dumb. Cant wait for the trip to KL....!

Go Forth & Multiply

Todays the eve of my cousin's wedding. Its kindda cool cause a bunch of my cousins are gettin married, throughout this year. Its joyful but alarming. They are saying I am next.
I hate to disappoint them, I'd wish for a groom to come all wrapped up in a gift set which comes with good profession, funny bones, loving heart and lifetime warranty. But I guess it is never that way. Haha. For once, I cant afford time to make friends to with people AND meet up old budds. I guess speed dating could be the only way to go.... Burrrr! I don wanna go there~
I was checkin with myself.

Myra, do you like anyone at this moment?
no

Myra, have you been with someone?
3 years back...

Myra, why don you like anyone?
well, if i did, what can i do bout it? i did told someone but he said its tough to 'hook' him. oh well

Myra, do you wanna get with dudes less intellectual than you?
no, they probably find me snobbish.
I'd rather be guided than to guide.

Myra, do you wanna be matched?
yea, with dude who has Matt Leblanc's body and with the charms of Sean Connery. Too much to ask? NO way. Can it be with someone like Prof Steve? so smart and conniving.. melty smile. How about like the pilot husband from Cairo, 1.8 m tall, broad shoulders, gree-eyed, no mistress anywhere on earth, older than me by 6 years, pious but not overdoing it and lastly, loves me and only me? Hmmm, and I am wondering whether it will always be a dream......

Myra, will you ever make the first move?
Not anymore

What happens if no one could be your groom?
I will fly my life to different parts of the world, till someone finds me.

Whats the first thing you would say to the dude?
'what took you soooo long, come lets have chocolate milk and Chipsmore cookies'

After all those, I felt better, despite feelin a lil left out in the world of couplehood.
Everything will be fine.... myra is consoling herself.....

Estacy At Work

Today I breathed in scents of serenity. Whoa, I didnt need aromatherapy for that mornin.. it all came naturally.

Phone beeped signalling an sms.

"must be Jincheng", i thought.

Nice fella who is all so polite, but in a street way. He cracks jokes that never fails to tickle Maureen. And he reads my mind and sometimes my manouverings words. Those words needed to shield my self-esteem. Street fella who is calm and smart in his own quiet way. I cant say the same for the volume of his voice really....

I enjoy mornings especially when the anxiety of busy, stressful cum challenging internship is NOT clouding my mind on a lovely work day.... Yea.... Its NOT. Weeeeeee! I gotto to thank Jincheng for that really.

"waiting at the train, the benches", so the sms was from Ryan.. Thoughtful dude, did I tell you he is sincere and ethical too?? I was thinking, he is a good catch for a sweet chinese girl who is as petite as him. Nice fella.

I was carrying my breakfast made by Mom, gave by Lord. Thank YOU God!! ( i was waiting for my mom to make me a nice breakfast for ions) In the bag there was also Marigold milk, chocolate. Nowadays I like a good diet. It doesnt pay to die from ailments which could be prevented, really...

So I savour every moment of private time I had to myself.. Whoa... beautiful... I imagined how my office would be like with only Maureen, Chatali, Nesh, Jincheng and the Helpdesk fellas. Thats darn scenic.
No incense smells.
No interruptions for meetings at 9am, amidst checking emails.
No silly sales pitch for e two absurd whimsical P.M.
And best of all, no.... BOSS... ahhh, I was simply estatic!

Long well-deserved lunch with Jincheng in the Accounts room, BK meal. Maureen was already planning to eat at China Square the next day. I second that suggestion. I cant forget the Milo Dino I had from Mister Teh Tarik, when Man and me chilled there for an 'illegal' 1.5hours lunch break.

I sat down all proud to have finished 79 calls today. Phew! Although its to no positive outcome, as we did not have sufficient people down for the HP seminar, but who cares anyway... Whats good is that the cat is out and the mice run out to play.

I understand its not suppose to be this way. Its agaisnt my principle to hate the Boss and avoid him but ..... Trust me, with all objectivity, that if you were one of the interns at our place, you will support me on this. 20-2 interns here will testify to that.

One good lesson we brought home was, no matter what a nightmare it was to a few of us, we learnt alot bout life and how we will spend it.
Money is not always a primary motivating factor for sensible humans. AND
Ethics and Social Responsibilty is not merely a course you need to clear your modules....Remember that and you will be thankful to me, in future.

Lastly, I wanna say I love you Dad and I am so glad you have found a job you really like. I love you so much.
